Tucson police say an Uber driver was shot while dropping off a passenger in midtown Monday.

According to Sgt. Kimberly Bay, the incident happened near Grant and Columbus. A shooter hit the driver with birdshot, and the driver made his way to a nearby Circle K to call for help.

He is hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. The passenger was uninjured.

Police have one person in custody.
