UA professor sues over gender discrimination

A University of Arizona professor filed a class-action lawsuit that accuses the school of gender discrimination.

Katrina Miranda, a UA chemistry professor, filed the lawsuit in federal court Nov. 29. She alleges that the UA College of Science discriminates against women in pay and job promotions.

The Arizona Board of Regents was named as the defendant.

In January, former UA Honors College dean Patricia MacCorquodale sued te UA for $2 million, alleging gender discrimination limited her pay.

Miranda's suit could include as many as 80 current and former UA professors.
