Police are searching for 42-year-old Octavio Acosta on a felony arrest warrant in connection with a series of bomb threats in the Tucson area over the last two weeks.

The Tucson Police Department Bomb Squad has been working in cooperation with the Marana Police Department, Pima County Sheriff’s Department, Department of Public Safety and members of the Joint Terrorism Task Force to investigate the 18 separate incidents.

Authorities have identified Acosta as the suspect in the series of hoaxes. He is described as a Hispanic male, 5’10”, 150 lbs., grey hair and brown eyes.

The felony arrest warrant has been issued for Hoax, Interference with an Educational Institution, and False Reporting.

Authorities say the locations of the hoaxes included health centers, churches, schools and government buildings. In some cases, buildings were evacuated and business or classes were disrupted for several hours.

Anyone who may know the whereabouts of Acosta is urged to contact 911 or 88-CRIME immediately.  He is known to be armed with firearms.
