TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — Joy. That's what people feel when they drive by Dan Moussette's home every holiday season.

"I think anything people can do to bring back joy is great. It's something that we all need right now," said visitor, Lorraine Simon.

The spectacular display of lights and art at Dan Moussette's home is 32 years in the making. He started the tradition to spread some cheer around his neighborhood.

"My yard is fully covered. We have over 150 handmade things you will not find in a store," said Moussette.

Moussette is the creative behind every inch of his yard. He installed 63,000 LED lights and handmade 150 one-of-a-kind figurines. He begins construction every year three weeks before Thanksgiving.

"My granddaughters are at the age where they can help. They get excited. That's what it's all about: watching the kids get excited and giving back," said Moussette.

Just this year, Moussette helped donate 1,500 pounds of food and $300 to the Community Food Bank.

"We've been going to the food bank every third to fourth day because we have nowhere to store it all," said Moussette.

In late 2021, the home will compete in ABC's The Great Christmas Light Fight. The winners score a $50,000 cash prize. For Moussette, seeing the smiles on everyone's faces makes him feel like he already won.

"It makes me feel really good that in a small way we can give back to the community. Everyone needs a little pick-me-up this time of year," said Moussette.

The Moussette Family holiday light display at 3073 West Wildwood Drive will stay open until January 1.
