The Arizona Department of Public Safety says two people were killed in a crash along State Route 87 early Thursday morning.

DPS says a single vehicle headed southbound on the highway lost control, crossed the center median, and rolled through the northbound lanes of traffic.

A male driver and female passenger were killed, including one who was ejected from the car.

Four other people were hurt in the crash -- two younger adult females, one man, and a preteen. The relationship of the victims is not yet known. Officials are still working to alert next of kin.

Northbound lanes of SR-87 reopened near Gilbert Road around 8 a.m.

The cause of the crash has not yet been determined. Stay with ABC15 for updates.
