Four people are recovering after they were injured when a small plane crashed at a southern Arizona airport.

Santa Cruz County Sheriff Tony Estrada said Sunday that a pilot, an aviation student and two other passengers had injuries that were not considered life-threatening in the crash at Nogales International Airport.

Authorities say the crash occurred Saturday afternoon as the plane was taking off.

Emergency responders transported all four to the hospital.

No one on the ground was injured.

The cause is still under investigation.
