MARANA, AZ — Police in Marana have released the name of a man who was fatally shot by an officer.

They say 24-year-old Juan Padilla was killed Sunday after he stabbed a man and woman inside a house.

Police say the woman called 911 after Padilla attacked a man inside the home. Padilla and the woman reportedly were guests of the homeowner.

A responding officer found the man in the home's front yard critically wounded with stab wounds.

Police say the officer could hear a woman screaming inside the house and Padilla was shot when he refused to drop his weapon.

They say Padilla was pronounced dead at the scene. The names of the man and woman who were stabbed haven't been released and police don't have a motive for the attack yet.
