GILA RIVER INDIAN COMMUNITY, AZ — Authorities say a wanted and dangerous suspect who caused a lockdown in Komatke Tuesday has been arrested.

The Gila River Police Department says the suspect, identified as Brandon Talamantez, was arrested just before noon Wednesday at a home near 79th Avenue and Baseline Road.

Police say Talamantez is the one officers searched for the day before in and around Komatke which caused several nearby buildings to be placed on lockdown. Resources from the Phoenix Police Department, including its helicopter and members of the department's SWAT team, assisted with the search.

Gila River police say Talamantez, 24, is wanted for "numerous dangerous crimes" on tribal and state land. His girlfriend, Lindsay Walker, was also taken into custody.

Police turned both over to the FBI and say they will face federal charges.

Earlier this month, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office issued an alert for Talamantez, saying he was wanted in connection with a shooting in Phoenix.

MCSO says Talamantez is responsible for a shooting at a home near 39th Avenue and Southern that happened just before 5 a.m. on August 20.
