Woman calls 911 to say she shot her child's dad

On Sunday night, the Casa Grande Police Department responded to a 911 call from a woman who said she shot her child's father.

Audra Lynn Jarrett is being held in a Pinal County jail on suspicion of second-degree murder.
 
Authorities said the 26-year-old woman called 911 late Sunday night to report the shooting.
 
Police said officers found 34-year-old Jesse Rodriguez in the hallway with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers said they discovered a .45 caliber handgun at Jarrett's home, where a five-year-old was also present but not injured.

According to the police, a verbal dispute between Jarrett and Rodriguez preceded the shooting.

Police said the investigation in ongoing.
