CASA GRANDE, AZ — Casa Grande Police are investigating the death of a 33-year-old man, who police say was shot by his estranged wife's boyfriend.

Officers were first called to an apartment in the 900 block of North Colorado Street around 8 p.m. Saturday.

A 33-year-old man, identified as Michael Watson, was found with a single gunshot wound to the front upper torso. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Two other people were on scene, a 30-year-old woman identified as the victim’s wife, and a 32-year-old man, identified as the woman’s boyfriend.

Police believe the husband arrived at the estranged wife’s apartment where a confrontation occurred between him and the boyfriend.

The husband reportedly assaulted the boyfriend, who then fired a gun, hitting the husband.

Police say both the woman and boyfriend stayed at the scene and are cooperating.
