There will be closures on I-10, I-17 and US-60 this weekend for construction projects, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Here is the information provided in ADOT's Weekend Freeway Travel Advisory:

  • Eastbound Interstate 10 closed between 67th and 51st avenues in west Phoenix from 9 p.m. Friday, April 12, to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 14, for construction at the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway interchange.
  • Eastbound I-10 on-ramps at 91st, 83rd, 79th and 75th avenues also closed. DETOUR: Expect heavy traffic, consider alternate routes and allow extra travel time. Alternate routes include northbound and eastbound Loop 101 in the west Valley. Eastbound I-10 traffic exiting at 67th Avenue can detour along the I-10 access road as well as eastbound McDowell Road or Van Buren Street. NOTE: Eastbound I-10 drivers with plans to travel beyond the Phoenix area can consider exiting to southbound State Route 85 in Buckeye and then using eastbound I-8 to reach I-10 in the Casa Grande area.
  • Northbound Interstate 17 closed between the I-10 split interchange near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and 19th Avenue (at the Durango Curve) from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (April 15) for pavement improvements. DETOUR: Traffic will detour to westbound I-10 at the Split interchange and can reconnect with I-17 at the Stack interchange west of 19th Avenue. Westbound I-10 drivers near Sky Harbor Airport also can detour by exiting at 32nd or 24th streets and traveling south to westbound Broadway Road, northbound 19th Avenue and westbound Grant Street to access northbound I-17.

ADOT's Doug Nintzel also told us:

  • Eastbound US 60 (Superstition Freeway) off-ramp at Val Vista Drive closed from Friday, April 12 at 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, April 15, for city of Mesa construction project (intersection improvements).

Have a great and safe weekend!
