Inmate from AZ switches identities, escapes jail

Authorities say an inmate from Arizona escaped jail after posing as another inmate scheduled to be released.

According to the Associated Press, 30-year-old Michael Diontae Johnson escaped Thursday morning by working with the other inmate to switch identities.

Johnson, 30, is serving 24 years for convictions of kidnapping and aggravated assault out of Maricopa County.

He was serving time on those charges when he was brought to Clark County, Washington to stand trial for local charges.

In 2013, former Arizona fugitive Rocky Marquez switched writstbands with a man in Detroitto sneak his way out of custody, He did the very same thing to escape 4th Avenue Jail in Phoenix.

ADC's Fugitive Apprehension Unit and the U.S. Marshals Service are working together to locate Johnson.  

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call police.
