A fetus was reportedly found on an American Airlines plane in New York.
A source told WABC-TV that the fetus was found inside the plane’s bathroom at LaGuardia Airport on Tuesday morning.
According to WABC-TV, the plane was in the hanger for cleaning at the time of the discovery. The plane landed at LaGuardia on Monday night. The flight came from Charlotte, North Carolina.
An American Airlines spokesperson released the following statement to WABC-TV:
"As we continue to learn more about this tragic and sensitive situation, we are working actively with law enforcement on the investigation. Please contact law enforcement for additional information."
Police are investigating. No other information is known at this time.
The New York Daily News originally reported that it was an infant found dead on the plane but new information indicates this was a fetus.
