PHOENIX — Just after 3:45 a.m. Thursday, Phoenix police responded to a crash involving a pedestrian near 28th Avenue and Thomas Road.

When officers arrived, they found a man with serious injuries. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene despite life-saving efforts.

Police say the pedestrian may have been hit by multiple vehicles, with at least one vehicle remaining on the scene.

Detectives have taken over the investigation.
