JAKES CORNER, AZ — Fire crews are working to put out a new wildfire that sparked early Sunday afternoon in Gila County.

The "Pioneer Fire" sparked about four miles south of Jakes Corner and north of Tonto Basin.

As of 2:15 p.m., forward progress on the fire had been stopped at 25 acres.

SR 188 is closed near the fire's location. It's not clear when it will reopen.

Also, the Brownsville Mobile Home Park is on SET status because of the fire.

The Gila County Sheriff's Office tells ABC15 they believe the fire was human-caused and accidental. They believe that someone welding a fence may have sparked the blaze.
