GILBERT, AZ — Check your tickets! You could be the winner of the biggest-ever jackpot on a single ticket in Arizona!

The estimated $473 million winning Powerball jackpot ticket from Wednesday night's drawing was sold in Arizona, according to the Powerball website.

The winning numbers for the drawing were: 11, 36, 61, 62, 68, and Powerball number 4 with a Power Play of 2.

The ticket was reportedly sold at a QuikTrip store near Gilbert and Warner roads in Gilbert.

Some customers were at the QuikTrip Thursday trying to get in on the luck.

“I think it’s my lucky day to get a lottery winning,” Tom Peter laughs. “What do you think? What are the odds of somebody winning twice? I think they’re pretty good. if you can win once, you can win twice.”

And somewhat overshadowed by the big win, The Arizona Lottery says someone won $4.3 million dollars Wednesday from a Safeway in Mesa. So how likely is it that we’ll find out who won the jackpot?

John Gilliland, the Public Information Officer for Arizona Lottery says, “Arizona has a law in place that allows you if win 100,000 dollars or more in the lottery, you can claim permanent anonymity. And everyone who has claimed that prize has done so.”

Arizona Lottery doesn’t know if it was one single person or a pool of coworkers. The big win Gilliland says helps the state of Arizona tremendously. “Money that comes in through ticket sales, helps our state mandated beneficiaries. There are 18 different vital programs and services that would otherwise rely on tax dollars for their funding if it weren’t for the Arizona Lottery.”

Benefiting the State Treasury to pay for things like homeless shelters, school teachers and environmental conservation, that would otherwise come out of the state’s general fund. The state seeing millions of dollars in tax revenue just from claiming the prize.

Gilliland says, “This is a huge win and then on top of that, you’ve got the fact that you’ve got somebody living here in Arizona who’s going to bring this money into their community.”

So far, no one has claimed the ticket.
