Leslie’s Pool Supplies’ safe swimming initiative

PHOENIX It’s summer here in the valley and spending your days by the pool with the little ones just got easier, thanks to Leslie’s Pool Supply

Leslie’s started a pool safety initiative, broken down into three key guidelines: Learn to swim, secure the area and maintain healthy water. With more than half of Americans (54%) not being able to swim or know basic swim safety skills, Leslie’s is partnering with swimming organizations and companies across the valley to provide swim lessons to children in the community.

To combat more than 140 drownings across the US last summer, securing the pool area is a vital step in pool safety, especially if there are kids in and around the water. The pool supply company recommends fencing your pool or investing in a pool cover to prevent accidental falls.

But, you can’t have a fun swimming experience if the water is dirty says Leslie’s. Maintaining clean water is the last important step of the three guidelines. Testing the water regularly at home helps maintain your pools overall cleanliness. Free, expert water testing is available at all 900+ Leslie’s locations to ensure the chemical balance is safe for the kiddos!

“At Leslie’s, we are committed to promoting safe, healthy pools through our free water testing services and our partnerships with organizations like the USA Swimming Foundation to help fund swimming lessons in our communities.” – Leslie’s President and CEO, Steve Ortega
