Cactus Shadows High School cancels first day of in-person classes Tuesday

CAVE CREEK, AZ — Cactus Shadows High School in the Cave Creek Unified School District has canceled in-person classes for Tuesday, the district said Friday.

In a statement from the district, they say they "do not have enough staff to safely open and will need to revert to our distance learning model."

Cactus Shadows planned to return for classes for the first time, following the Governing Board's decision to affirm the return date on September 1.

The teachers that required substitutes, are to communicate on how the students will do their school work that day. Those who did not require a sub are holding their regular Zoom classes.

The district says they plan to have an update on Tuesday on how they will go forward in the week.
