CHINO VALLEY, AZ — A Chino Valley man has been arrested, accused of abusing three dogs.

The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office reports that on March 30, they responded to a home where Bryan Ellis, 34, violated release conditions from a prior arrest.

When deputies arrived, Ellis was gone, but a dog was found locked in his van with no food or water.

YCSO then received several reports saying Ellis was abusing a dog in the area. When deputies caught up with him, he said the dogs got loose, and he was chasing them.

YCSO says several witnesses allegedly saw Ellis with a white and a brown pit bull.

They reported that Ellis hit the white dog and threw him to the ground multiple times. Deputies say the dog walked away, limping and vomiting.

Other witnesses allegedly told deputies that Ellis dragged the brown dog along the ground.

Deputies found the brown dog and said he was bleeding from the mouth and paws.

The white dog has not been located.

Ellis is being held without bond for violating a court order and animal abuse.
