PHOENIX — A North Carolina teacher arrested for molesting a child while visiting family in Arizona has now been charged in North Carolina.

Authorities in Durham, N.C. have charged 44-year-old Nathan Stuart Elder with multiple charges of ‘secretly peeping,’ ‘indecent liberties with a child,’ and possession of child pornography.

Durham police searched Elder’s electronics and reportedly found 33 images that “violate North Carolina’s secret peeping laws.” Investigators also allegedly found pictures of possible crimes committed in Alabama, California and Maricopa County, Arizona.

Durham police say they are working with local law enforcement to contact victim families.

On December 30, Phoenix police arrested Elder while he was visiting family in Phoenix.

Police officers were called after the parents of the victim discovered Elder molested their preschool-aged daughter in the loft of their home.

The parents contacted other family members in Oakland, California, since Elder had recently visited them. They discovered that another girl reported that Elder also molested her.

Elder, who is a teacher at the Montessori Children's House in Durham, North Carolina, was given a $100,000 cash bond.

He's been charged in Maricopa County with child molestation.
