Police: Woman assaults wheelchair-bound man, takes his medication

A woman assaulted and stole medication from a wheelchair-bound man in central Phoenix.

Police report that on February 21 shortly before 2 p.m., witnesses made reports to police saying that a woman, later identified as 39-year-old Tracey Lynn Jefferies, grabbed prescription pills from a man who was in a wheelchair.

The witnesses reportedly told police that the victim chased after Jefferies; she then allegedly struck him, knocking him to the ground where she continued to assault him. 

The assault happened in downtown Phoenix near 1st Avenue and Jefferson Street.

Jefferies was later arrested and has been charged with robbery and aggravated assault.
