PHOENIX — A man may lose his hand after being cut with a machete.

Phoenix police report that on March 4 officers responded to an apartment near 21st Avenue and Cactus Road on a domestic violence call.

Police say surveillance video shows an argument between Quenton Michael Tucker, age 20, and the victim, who is his mother’s boyfriend.

The video reportedly shows the victim using an 'aerosol chemical spray' to make Tucker and another family member retreat toward the apartment while he followed.

Later, police say the victim is seen coming back into the camera’s view and falling to the ground.

The victim was transported to the hospital with, "severe damage to the bone and ligaments on his right wrist," according to a probable cause statement. Police described the weapon used by Tucker to cut the victim’s hand as a machete.

The victim required surgery to save his hand, according to court documents.

Tucker's mother reportedly told police that her boyfriend pushed her into the bathtub and placed, "heavy objects on her just prior to the incident."

Tucker was located and arrested the next day.

He has been charged with aggravated assault.
