GLENDALE, AZ — A suspect accused of killing a man near Glendale Community College last month has been extradited to Phoenix.

Karriem Seymour, age 52, was returned to Phoenix Wednesday afternoon from a Colorado Springs jail.

Seymour is accused of shooting and killing Damon Odell Frye, 31.

Witnesses told police Frye was shot in the courtyard of the Veranda apartment complex near 59th and Olive avenues around 5:50 p.m on April 6. Police say he and Seymour argued about Frye drinking liquor that didn't belong to him.

Seymour allegedly shot Frye in the chest with a 9mm handgun.

Officers searched the area for more than an hour, but were unable to find Seymour, who allegedly told his girlfriend that “she would never see him again.”

Seymour is being held on a $1,000,000 bond for aggravated assault and first-degree murder.
