Scottsdale police say a property manager and his friend were assaulted by a man who was trespassing at a home managed by the victim.

Scottsdale police say on June 6 the property manager of a home near 68th Street and Thomas Road saw the door cracked open and the doorknob broke off and went to investigate.

The manager and a friend reportedly saw 31-year-old Randy Lance Lomahoema sleeping inside a closet in the home.

They tried to detain Lomahoema until police arrived, but he resisted by swinging a baseball bat and hitting them on the hands and ribs.

Police arrived and took Lomahoema into custody. Lomahoema reportedly told police that he was arrested at the same house two weeks prior and returned to the vacant house because he needed a place to stay.

Police say they found six syringes in Lomahoema's pockets. He allegedly admitted to police that he recently used methamphetamines.

Lomahoema has been charged with criminal trespassing and aggravated assault.
