PHOENIX — A man was arrested after a doorbell video allegedly shows him kicking his 10-year-old son multiple times.

Phoenix police report that on January 27, they responded to a home near 35th and Peoria avenues. There they met a woman who showed them doorbell video taken last December that reportedly shows Matthew Flores kicking his 10-year-old son in the stomach, knocking him to the ground. Flores then again allegedly kicks him in the lower back and the arm as the boy is trying to get up.

Police requested that 35-year-old Flores come out of the home. Instead, he refused and locked the door. Police say Flores later surrendered to police after talking with his attorney for about two hours.

Court records show that there have been other instances of violence against the children in the past.

Flores has been charged with child abuse.
