A Phoenix burglary victim was able to use a GPS tracking system to locate suspects already being arrested in Glendale.

Glendale police report that on August 23 they went to the LA Fitness gym, near 55th Avenue and Bell Road, where two men were seen looking into vehicles in the parking lot.

Patrons at this gym had been the victim of "numerous" vehicle burglaries in the past. Police detained 44-year-old Raymon James Byrnes and 47-year-old Matthew Jo Nichols. As police were talking with the men, a woman pulled up saying she was the victim of theft from another gym parking lot in Phoenix that same morning.

The woman used her phone's GPS tracker to guide her from her gym near Central and Dunlap avenues to the Glendale location.

She described several items in her stolen gym bag including her phone. She dialed her number, and they heard a phone in the suspect’s vehicle ringing. Inside the car, police reportedly found several of the woman's items including a GPS unit, cell phone and a medical kit containing insulin. Police say the value of the woman’s items was about $2,000.

Byrnes allegedly admitted to taking the woman's gym bag after Nichols shattered her car window.

Video at the Glendale location reportedly shows the men looking inside several cars in the parking lot of the Glendale gym.

Byrnes and Nichols were arrested on burglary charges.
