PEORIA, AZ — A woman was arrested for DUI after dropping her children off at their preschool.

Peoria police report that on April 12 around 10 a.m., they responded to a preschool near 75th and Peoria avenues for a reported DUI with children in the car.

Police say preschool workers were concerned when 26-year-old Kathryn Nicole Sayers dropped off her children, showing intoxicating behaviors and slurred speech.

Sayers reportedly admitted to driving her two children to the preschool. She also allegedly said she drank shots of whiskey after midnight.

Police say surveillance video from the preschool confirmed Sayers was driving with her children in the car when she arrived.

Court documents show that Sayers had a blood-alcohol level recorded to be .156, or nearly twice the legal limit.

Sayers has been charged with extreme aggravated DUI.
