PHOENIX — A man has been arrested after allegedly stomping a puppy to death, then attacking a store clerk in west Phoenix.
Police report that last week officers arrested 29-year-old Marvin Stanciel outside a Family Dollar Store near 67th Avenue and Indian School Road.
Police say Stanciel had killed a puppy by, "stomping the animal to death." He then allegedly went over the store counter to attack a clerk before fleeing.
Stanciel struggled and fought with police after a short foot chase but was apprehended.
He has been charged with cruelty to animals and several counts of aggravated assault.
