A man checking on his girlfriend's Phoenix home was there at the right time to capture a burglar.

Phoenix police report that around 10 p.m. on March 12 a man went to check on his girlfriend's home. She was out of town, and he arrived to find a woman standing outside the home.

As he approached the home he also reportedly found items in the front yard of the home and the back of a nearby vehicle.

The woman, later identified as 43-year-old Donna Kay Farnsworth, ran from the man. He managed to capture her about 400 yards away from the home, holding her there until police arrived.

Police say Farnsworth later told them she entered the home through a doggie door. She also reportedly told police that she wasn't going to steal the items she removed from the house, but she was "just re-arranging the house."

Farnsworth has been charged with burglary.
