PHOENIX — A man is arrested for assaulting his ex-girlfriend at the Phoenix Children's Museum.

Phoenix police report that on January 29 they were called to the Phoenix Children's Museum near 7th and Van Buren streets.

Employees told them that a man, later identified as 19-year-old Raymond Duran Vela, entered the museum looking for his ex-girlfriend who is employed there.

Vela reportedly found her working in the toddler room and confronted her about their relationship.

He also allegedly grabbed the woman and pulled a chain off her neck. He then demanded another piece of jewelry.

Vela was told to leave but instead wandered around the third floor before fleeing out of a fire door when police arrived.

Vela was located and arrested by police on February 19.

He's been charged with assault and robbery.
