A tip from police in New Zealand led to the arrest of a Gilbert man for watching and commenting on a live stream of child pornography coming from Georgia.
Federal investigators with the Department of Homeland Security report that in April, their office in Savannah received a tip from authorities in New Zealand. They reported that an 8-year-old girl in their area was being shown undressing live on Periscope while being viewed by 47 Twitter accounts.
One of those 47 Twitter accounts was traced to a home in Gilbert near Recker and Warner roads. HSI agents reviewed the video, which showed the girl receiving requests from viewers to expose herself.
Agents say that the man from Gilbert, who was watching live, commented several times, saying, "Do it again," "Jump on the bed," and "Bottoms down!"
On June 28, HSI agents served a warrant at the home and questioned 56-year-old Richard Palazzetti, who allegedly admitted to watching videos of young girls for several months.
He has been charged with sexual exploitation of a minor and other sex-related charges.
