PHOENIX — An arrest has been made in last week's deadly west Phoenix shooting.

Phoenix police report that Monday night they arrested Matthew Lamont Brown, 35, at a home near 43rd Avenue and Camelback Road.

Brown is accused of shooting and killing Marvin Aguilar on April 18.

According to police, Brown offered him drugs for sale. When Aguilar refused, Brown allegedly fired several shots, striking Aguilar in the chest.

Aguilar was later pronounced dead.

Witnesses recognized Brown as someone living in the area.

On April 22, police located and arrested Brown. Brown allegedly hid his handgun under a car, but police found it.

Investigators test-fired the weapon and matched the gun to the murder.

Brown is being held without bond for first-degree murder.
