PHOENIX — Authorities are investigating a carjacking involving a deputy with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

Phoenix police officers were called to the area of 16th and Campbell avenues Monday morning for a call regarding an armed robbery.

Once at the scene, officers made contact with the caller, who turned out to be an off-duty MCSO deputy.

He reported that a man pointed a gun at him and took his personally owned vehicle.

Phoenix PD says the vehicle also contained some property belonging to MCSO, including a handgun.

It's unclear if the deputy suffered any injuries during the robbery.

An investigation remains ongoing.
