MESA, AZ — A man was arrested in Mesa after admitting to stealing an ambulance.
Mesa police report that on February 21, they responded to the area of Horne and Broadway roads for a reported stolen ambulance from American Medical Response. A Mesa police helicopter spotted the ambulance a few blocks away, where patrol officers intercepted it.
The driver, Robert Anthony Hidalgo, 53, reportedly told police, "I stole the ambulance."
Hidalgo has been charged with unlawful use of a vehicle.
His next court date is March 6.
