A hearing-impaired man helped police capture a couple who burglarized his home.

Mesa police report that on November 18 they responded to a home, near Alma School Road and Main Street, for a reported burglary.

A hearing-impaired man reportedly told police that a man and a woman broke into his home. They were allegedly rummaging through cabinets and drawers, stealing items worth about $800.

They also reportedly tried to take the man's bicycle, but he resisted, and they ran away.

The victim managed to get a photo of them as they left.

Police located and arrested Christopher Phillip Burton age 33, and Leticia Mina Memea, age 32, about a half a mile away.

Police say both suspects have an extensive criminal history and have been charged with burglary.
