A man and woman were found dead Tuesday at an apartment complex in Phoenix, apparently the result of a violent argument, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Phoenix police responded to the apartment complex, near 43th Avenue and Camelback Road, around 9 a.m., a spokesperson said. Once there, officers found 33-year-old Desiree Colter and 43-year-old John Parker dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

The investigation revealed that Colter and Park were in a relationship and that the two were in an argument, which at some point became physical, police said.

Police said Parker shot Colter, who died from her injuries, and then took his own life.
