PHOENIX — A man was shot and killed Saturday during a house party near 28th Street and Greenway Road, according to Phoenix Police Department officials.
Officers were called to a home for reports of shots fired around 2:30 a.m. When they arrived they found a man inside a residence with a gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to Phoenix Police Sergeant Mercedes Fortune. Police said the victim was identified as 25-year-old Tayvione Smith.
At the scene, investigators were advised of a second person who arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound. His injuries are said to be non-life threatening.
Police say the suspect and several others fled the scene before they arrived and no arrest have been announced.
The investigation remains ongoing.
