PHOENIX — A homicide suspect has been arrested in Phoenix after a man was shot and killed during an armed robbery earlier this month.

Phoenix police say the victim was found February 2 around 8 p.m. at a home near 107th Avenue and Camelback Road.

Court records show that 29-year-old Xavier Dillard was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his back. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

During their investigation, police learned that Dillard and his car were reported as missing the day before. Police located the stolen car on Feb. 5 near 107th Avenue and Indian School Road. Khari Lane, 21, was found inside the vehicle, police say.

Police reportedly found a handgun in the car with Lane. A preliminary test of the weapon indicated that the gun matched the shell casing found at the murder scene.

Lane is being held on a $1,000,000 cash bond on charges of first-degree murder, armed robbery, and car theft.
