PHOENIX — The Phoenix Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting in northwest Phoenix.

Officers were called to a home on Paradise Drive, near Cactus Road and 43rd Avenue, Sunday morning around 8:00 a.m. for reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a man who was pronounced dead at the scene. Police announced Monday that 18-year-old Miguel Ogo was arrested for manslaughter.

According to police documents, the victim and suspect were arguing over a gun, though there were multiple inconsistencies with the story told by the suspect and witnesses.

The gun had reportedly been fired multiple times and the victim was shot in the stomach and head.

Police say the suspect, Ogo, had been drinking at the time of the incident and did not immediately call police after the shooting occurred.

Ogo was jailed on a count of manslaughter.

The victim has not yet been publicly identified.
