YUMA, AZ — A man wanted for alleged child sex crimes was arrested in Yuma by U.S. Marshals.

Officials say on Thursday, Daniel William Lehmann was captured by members of the U.S. Marshals Service, the Yuma Police Department, and the Arizona Gang Task Force.

Lehmann is accused of sexual assault on a child in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, from 2009 through 2014. Additionally, he's accused of sexually assaulting a second minor victim in 2014.

Authorities believe the second assault happened after Lehmann moved in with a Sioux Falls family and took advantage of their trust.

The state of South Dakota indicted Lehmann on the sexual assault charges and an arrest warrant was issued, however, it was later discovered Lehmann fled the area and ended up in Yuma.

The U.S. Marshals Service was informed and asked to assist with locating and arresting Lehmann.

He was captured at a business and taken into custody. Marshals found a loaded 9mm handgun with multiple loaded magazines inside Lehmann's vehicle.

He was booked into the Yuma County Jail and is awaiting extradition to South Dakota where he faces a list of charges.
