PHOENIX — Each Friday, we're looking for your help to track down fugitives in Arizona.

Wanted: David Sharp

Charges: Probation violation on original charge of failure to register as a sex offender.

On June 19, 2006, Sharp was 22 years old when a woman visiting from New York approached him in Tucson. She was working on a documentary regarding the homeless population in Tucson and asked to see Sharp's "home."

Sharp led her to a vacant tunnel where he allowed her to take photos of him. Later he told the woman that he wanted her to touch him sexually. Instead, the woman squeezed his genitals. Sharp got angry and sexually assaulted the woman.

He was later convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison and lifetime probation.

After his release, he was arrested again in Tempe in 2018 for violating the conditions of his probation. He was then sent back to prison for a year.

Authorities say that on February 4, 2020, Sharp cut off his electronic monitoring device and threw it in a trash can. He also failed to report to a mental health status hearing the next day.

There is now a warrant for his arrest.

Sharp is 35 years old, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, and weighs 165 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes.

If you know where he could be, please contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.

The warrant is valid as of February 27, 2020.
