An El Mirage woman in a sexual relationship with her stepson reportedly tried to stab him after an "affair" was revealed.
El Mirage Police report that on April 29 they arrested a 30-year-old woman at her home near Dysart and Thunderbird roads.
The woman is the stepmother of the minor victim and is accused of being in a sexual relationship with him for the past six years.
She was allegedly upset with the victim after finding out that he was with another female. As the argument escalated, the victim threatened to leave home for good.
The suspect reportedly grabbed a knife and attempted to stab the victim in the stomach. The victim pushed her away, getting cut on the finger.
The suspect allegedly kept advancing on the victim, saying, "I'll stab you."
The victim managed to leave home and contact police.
Police say the Arizona Department of Child Safety has been notified of the incident.
The suspect has been indicted for aggravated assault.
