Turf Paradise owner Jerry Simms is hoping to help people in need during the coronavirus pandemic with a $1 million donation to a state relief fund.
Simms donated the money last week to the Arizona Coronavirus Relief Fund, part of the Arizona Together initiative started by Gov. Doug Ducey.
The fund aims to do a number of things, including provide personal protective equipment to health care workers, support local nonprofits and provide technology to children learning at home.
The inspiration for the donation came while watching the "One World: Together at Home" concert event in April.
