Struggling Houston health care company shuts 2 facilities, including in Valley

Houston-based Nobilis Health Corp., which has experienced difficulties in the past year, has closed two facilities, including one in Arizona.

Nobilis announced that it closed the Surgeons’ Premier Medical Center facility in Sugar Land and the Scottsdale Liberty Hospital in Scottsdale, according to a Sept. 13 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Both closures were effective Sept. 13.

Nobilis had a 75 percent ownership interest in the Scottsdale Liberty Hospital, which had two operating rooms, according to Nobilis’ 2017 annual report — the most recent annual report filed by the firm.
