Southwest Airlines is adding more routes to Hawaii with prices starting at $99 for one-way flights from California, the airline said Thursday.
The announcement comes after several months of no expansion plans.
Southwest Airlines Co.'s Hawaiian expansion has in part been hampered by the grounding of the 737 Max, of which it had 34 in its fleet when the aircraft was grounded in March.
With these additions, Southwest, which is the second-largest carrier operating at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, will now operate 34 interisland departures a day.
