Southwest Airlines moves up Phoenix-Memphis flight to summer launch

A flight in the wings at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport has been moved up from its original winter start time.

Southwest Airlines announced its new nonstop service between Sky Harbor and Memphis International Airport will now launch Sunday, July 26.

Announced in May, the service was previously slated not to begin until Dec. 17.

Dan Landson, a spokesperson for Southwest Airlines, told the Memphis Business Journal in a July 16 email that the airline has been tracking travel patterns and saw an opportunity to move up the anticipated route.
