Southwest Airlines Co. removed the 737 Max from its schedule until February 2020, the airline announced Thursday morning.

Previously, Southwest Airlines announced in July that it had cancelled flights through Jan. 5, 2020, because of the Max.

With this latest schedule adjustment, the Dallas-based carrier now has the aircraft off its schedule until Feb. 8, 2020, due to the uncertain timing of the plane's return to the skies, the company said in a statement.

Southwest is the second-largest carrier at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in terms of flights and passenger traffic.
