Phoenix was the best U.S. metro in January for employment growth for small businesses across all industry sectors, according to a new report from Paychex and IHS Markit — but has not kept up with wage growth.
Although all metros have slowed in small business growth, Phoenix outpaced other markets in January, based on data collected from Paychex clients.
Phoenix ranked No. 1 in the country, just ahead of Dallas. for the pace of small business employment growth.
Tampa, Florida; Denver and Philadelphia rounded out the top five.
