Condoleezza Rice to speak at Phoenix Open tee-off event

Condoleezza Rice, the former U.S. Secretary of State under President George W. Bush, will be the keynote speaker for the annual Waste Management Phoenix Open tee-off luncheon on Dec. 3.

The venue location for this year's event, hosted by the Thunderbirds, will be announced in early November, organizers said in an announcement.

Arizona Diamondbacks President and CEO Derrick Hall will be the event's emcee.

Rice is currently the Denning Professor in Global Business and the Economy at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a professor of political science at Stanford University, as well as the Thomas and Barbara Stephenson Senior Fellow on Public Policy at the Hoover Institution.
