Flight delays were a major point of frustration for United Airlines' Twitter-using customers in August.
That is one of the revelations in a recently released study of negative Twitter mentions tied to nine major U.S.-based airlines during a two-week period in August at the height of the summer travel season.
InsureMyTrip, a travel insurance comparison site, conducted the study, and neither United nor archrival American Airlines fared particularly well in the analysis of more than 96,000 tweets over the two weeks measured, from August 9-23.
The big winner in the study? That would be Southwest Airlines, which long has touted its customer-friendly service as a major reason for the carrier’s popularity.
